    • Summer Scholars 2025: The Summer Scholars Program enables selected undergraduates, generally sophomores and juniors, to conduct in-depth research or creative work with University faculty.
    • Industry Scholars Initiative (Summer 2025): The Industry Scholars Initiative is a unique opportunity possible via funding from the Unidel Foundation. Industry Scholars receive a $4,000 stipend and are eligible for additional funding up to $3,000. The student’s research project can be conducted within UD or in an industry setting; however, the impact of the project must include some exposure to and connection with industry. To be eligible for this funding, students will need to be afforded a research-driven networking opportunity with industry personnel, researchers, scientists, or engineers.
    • Interdisciplinary Material Culture Research Cohort (IMCRC) (Summer 2025): In partnership with the Undergraduate Research Program, The Center for Material Culture Studies (CMCS) seeks to support several interdisciplinary projects focused on studying material culture for Summer 2025.
  • University of Wisconsin-Madison
    The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will be hosting Summer REU programs in Chemistry of Materials for Sustainability, Materials, and Chemical Upcycling of Waste Plastics. Students majoring in chemical engineering, bioengineering, chemistry, biochemistry, materials science, or any STEM field are eligible to apply. Women, underrepresented minorities and students from primarily undergraduate institutions are especially encouraged to apply.     Brief description: The REU program at the University of Kentucky provides a 10-week multidisciplinary summer research and education experience for rising junior and senior undergraduates in the area of Engineered Bioactive Interfaces and Devices. Engineered Bioactive Interfaces and Devices focuses on the novel design of architectures that interact with biological systems and promote the desired response. These advanced architectures have numerous applications ranging from tissue engineering, to sensing systems, to drug delivery.
